Phototype I:
Ginger hair / Fair skin / Lots of freckles / Sunburn before and after tanning with no protection
Your skin is particularly sensitive to the sun. You need to be very careful and stay out of the sun as much as possible!
During your winter sports holidays:
In the mountains, because the temperatures tend to be lower than elsewhere, we take less care in the sunshine. And yet, the higher the altitude, the higher the UVB levels. So at 1500m of altitude, UVB levels are 20% higher than at sea level!
What’s more, the percentage of reflection of the sun’s rays on the snow is 85%. Solar radiation is therefore much more dangerous in the mountains in winter!
Especially because the facial skin, which is exposed all year round, is particularly sensitive and more vulnerable to the sunshine.
Follow our sun care advice below for a successful winter sports holiday. With the right protection, you’ll be able to enjoy skiing, tobogganing, snowboarding and other mountain activities without worrying about your skin!
In the morning, use our extra-soothing pre- and after-sun cream A+B instead of your usual face care products (beauty creams, aftershave, etc.) which are often too scented and can therefore pose allergy risks.
Apply this A+B cream on all areas that will be exposed, half an hour before any exposure.
Before any sun exposure, apply our waterproof very high protection cream SPF 50+ on your face, not forgetting any other exposed areas, including the neck and ears... Re-apply the cream every hour.
For your lips, use our very high protection lip cream "H" SPF 50+. Covering and opaque, it prevents any dryness as well as recurrent disorders of the labial mucosa (can be applied on antiviral treatment). Under less extreme conditions, you can apply our invisible high protection lip stick SPF 30 which also prevents chapped lips.
Remember: protect your eyes from bright sunlight too by wearing our category 4 technically advanced 8882 sunglasses. These are particularly suitable for contact lens wearers or dry eye sufferers.
In the evening, remove the sunscreen from your face using our soothing after-sun lotion then, if necessary, apply our extra-soothing cream A+B in successive layers until no further absorption is possible. Once the A+B cream has been fully absorbed, you can apply our special regenerating cream. This highly nourishing moisturiser will rehydrate your skin after a day exposed to harsh weather, including sunshine, snow, frost and wind...
During your summer holidays:
Come the summer, we tend to be more aware of the risks associated with sun exposure.
That’s because much of our body is exposed to the sun’s rays and the sensation of warmth makes us realise that the sunshine is having an effect. However, if it is breezy, if we are out in the water or if it is slightly overcast, we might forget how dangerous the sun’s rays still are.
Hiking, climbing, sailing, surfing, swimming or even relaxing on your towel in your swimsuit all therefore carry risks for your skin!
Remember that, in addition to direct radiation (which peaks in July in our hemisphere), there is diffuse sky radiation (which represents around 40% of UV rays absorbed in the middle of the day – as intense on a clear day as when there are clouds at high altitude).
Last but not least, don’t forget the reflections off the water, grass and sand, which are not insignificant and explain why we can still catch the sun even when we are in the shade of a sun umbrella.
Effective sun protection tailored to your activity and skin type is therefore essential to be able to enjoy your summer holidays to the full!
Remember: Because your face is exposed all year round, it calls for extra-special care to avoid sun-induced premature ageing (actinic damage)!
